leveling up: vertwo hacks into gamescom 2021!
Cologne, Germany (via the World Wide Web) โ If there is one thing we love at vertwo, it is the magic that happens when different creative worlds collide. Thatโs exactly why our Co-Founders, Victorio Primadi and Marco Armando, grabbed their headsets and logged straight into the absolute madness of gamescom 2021!
Due to the global situation, the world’s largest video game festival swapped the massive physical halls of Koelnmesse for an entirely digital experience from Wednesday, August 25th to Friday, August 27th, 2021. But a virtual shift wasn’t going to stop our hustle.
Why Gaming?
You might be wondering: What is a studio focused on webtoons and animation doing at a video game convention? The answer is simple: transmedia. The line between a great game, a binge-worthy webtoon, and an epic animated series is thinner than ever.
Victorio and Marco dove deep into the brand-new gamescom biz B2B platform and the accompanying devcom developer conference. Their mission was clear: explore cross-media opportunities and hunt down new business partners. With thousands of international developers, publishers, and visionary indie creators showcasing their IPs, the virtual show floor was an absolute goldmine for collaboration.
The Digital Hustle
Even though we couldn’t physically walk the halls, the digital networking was non-stop. Between navigating virtual B2B booths, jumping into digital matchmaking sessions, and checking out the incredibly creative Indie Arena Booth Online, our founders connected with studios from all over the globe.
Whether it is finding an indie game that would make a killer webtoon adaptation or looking for partners to bring our own IPs into the interactive space, gamescom 2021 proved that the creative industry is truly borderless. We logged out of the event with a massive boost in XP, a full inventory of fresh global contacts, and some seriously exciting ideas for the future of vertwo!
